UPS Mail Innovations Sucks

Frankly, I have written about this horrendous service before and it gets no better. I had a package shipped and the estimated delivery date is 14 days later! WTF?? Sadly, shippers continue to bullcrap their customers and let them believe they ship UPS or FedEx and instead use their mailing services which causes long delays and crappy service. Two weeks coast to coast? No wonder I purchase on Amazon Prime with two day shipping. Wait, before you think I am paying extra for that free two day Amazon Prime shipping, let me state I use the Amazon video service and watch hundreds of videos annually at no extra cost than the $99 annual fee and that covers all my shipping for the year too! And none of that shipping si by these asinine carrier malfunctions.

We cannot blame the US Postal Service for the UPS service. After all, UPS is responsible to get it to your LOCAL post office where they deliver within a day or two to your door. The delays are all on UPS who don't give a rats ass about your shipment or timely delivery.

Merchants need to understand they will lose business by saving a few cents on shipping. As for QVC, I am done when they ship and charge for this crap service. Same with other vendors who can't use timely and decent shipping services.

I have the same problem with shipments from Gap. No one accepts responsibility and everyone states there are no complaints about the dreadful system

Received a PKG.UPS mail innovations, called UPS,they sent me to USPS,with phone number, called them, they referred me back to UPS,trying to find where pkg came from and WHO sent it,have ALL tracking numbers! Any help would be appreciated!!!

Tracking will only show location it was shipped from, not the actual sender in most cases. You can put in a request thru UPS and USPS but they are slow, if ever, to resolve anything.

UPS Mail Innovations is terrible, the worse thing in the world. . slower than the PONY EXPRESS, the least innovative thing I've ever seen, the tracking information is NEVER accurate, and theSeller charged me $15 to ship with this intolerable crap!! UPS should be ashamed of this. . it doesn't explain the difference on the UPS page . . its the same tracking page, but entirely the opposite customer experience. . and it tarnishes the brand of UPS and makes me less likely to ever use UPS as a shipper. . they don't understand HOW BAD this is. . as a consumer, I'll never buy from a vendor that uses this service, and my opinion of UPS in general is cut in half by creating a service that is slow as molasses under its brand name. A true embarrassment.

It is amazing to me how they can take two reasonably good delivery services (independent of the other) and have decent recent. BUT combine the two decent services together and make the level of service to the consumer go backwards. The savings cannot be any meaningful amount of money and I would personally be happen to pay a small incremental cost for one or the other - - Just DON"T combine them

I have yo agree. I had a package "delivered" today, according to the tracking, and did npt receive it. Ironically, I did receive another package from the same seller via this service. Spoke to my neighbor and heard the same thing from him (that the tracking will show delivered because it is in the hands of the USPS but yet has not been delivered actually). I will do everything I can to avoid this service.

Shouldn't be called innovation should be called ups stupid..

More than 72 hours after UPS says the package has departed Mail Innovations in San Leandro, which is about 4 hours away from the delivery location, the post office tracking site says they've only received notification of the package not the package itself.

Still waiting for shipment that left the 16th of December. UPS Mailing Innovations re-routed it an additional 800 miles from where it needed to go, then held it there two days before they made non-trackable progress back towards me. USPS still in process of deciding whether or not to accept shipment here. I wish I knew who to contact to file a formal complaint against them. I've written letters that go to file 13, I've told sellers not to use them but I feel I'm getting absolutely nowhere. I think the Feds should review their business practices, fine the hell out of them, and then shut them down if they don't comply. I'm willing to go the extra miles to get that done.

28 days and counting... still “In Transit”! I returned an item on 12/10/19 at my local post office (in CA; package was being returned to seller, Land’s End, in WI) using the seller’s UPS Mail Innovations preprinted return label. Sigh. I should have just paid for return via regular USPS. So now it’s 1/8/20 ... fully 28 days later...and though the seller originally sent me an email on 12/10/19 saying “your return has been picked up by USPS” with a UPS tracking link, that link takes me to the same, unchanged 14-word message at the UPS tracking site:
“In Transit by Post Office
Estimated Delivery: Please check back later for scheduled delivery.”
Below that, the Shipment Progress section lists solely the 12/10/19 “Accepted by post office” and nothing since..
I hunted around the UPS website, tried to start a claim, but apparently UPS Mail Innovations packages are not eligible for filing a lost/undelivered item — as soon as I entered my tracking number it informed me that I could not proceed with claim filing, as the tracking number pertained to a different “business unit”, with no further info on how I could proceed. Quite unhelpful. I am resigned to likely never seeing my refund. Laughably, the seller, in its email, had mentioned that a return fee of $6.95 would be deducted from my item refund. As far as they’re concerned, at this point, haven’t returned anything. I should have just kept the unwanted item and sold it or given it away.... rather than entrust it to UPS MI.

Complete nightmare every time I find out that Musicians Friend, Amazon, and eBay (3 sites I use a lot) intend to use UPS Mail Innovations as the method of shipping my purchase. When they use UPS alone, it's here in a couple days...when they use USPS alone, it's here in a few days...when they combine the two and use the term "UPS Mail Innovations",I don't get my purchase for a MINIMUM of 8 freaking days. Do away with UPS Mail Innovations IT DOES'NT WORK AND IT'S PISSING CUSTOMERS OFF!!!

I've had several merchants ship online orders to me through the UPSMI service and it is consistently TERRIBLE. EVERY time the delivery date is at least 1 week beyond what is estimated at the time of the purchase, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to track the package. When you call UPS, they just refer you to the USPS. If you've ever called the USPS for help, you know what a joke that is.

Amazon has changed the game. People expect 2-day deliver nowadays. Waiting 3 weeks for your package to be 'lost' in the USPS abyss is unacceptable. If you are a merchant reading this, please do NOT ship via UPSMI service. I'd much rather spend an extra $3 to get my package in a reasonable amount of time!

A total mess. Nobody wants to be responsible for delivering your item. It's easier just to blame the other guys. The kind of innovation we can do without...

UPS Innovations Priority SUCKS!!!!
I ordered a part from a supplier in Colorado. The part cost $29.95 and shipping cost $29.95. Shipping was to be by UPS. Nobody said anything about UPS transferring the shipment to USPS. The shipment sat at the shipper for 5 days after they called UPS as UPS won't pick up Innovation shipments until there is a set number of shipments ready to go. Then UPS sent my shipment from Colorado to California, where it was transferred to the mail, to be sent to Alberta????
I paid for the part on May 14 and still haven't received it.
Finally, today, I found out that the shipment will be delivered by Canada Post, not UPS. The UPS tracking number suddenly became invalid 2 days ago, and calling UPS accomplished nothing. The UPS agent didn't have a clue about Innovations.
I will never again deal with any seller who uses UPS Innovations.

Could not agree more. I will forever avoid merchants that ship via "UPS Mail Irritations" (I'm looking at you Bath and Body Works). Truly terrible service.

Have been thrown into this service several times with never a good outcome, the last was this week, the seller was 57 miles away it has been 4 days and according to the tracking they missed the post office by 10 miles to far, they would not accept it so now it goes to another city 15 miles the other way. the package may make it to the correct post office we shall see.

I agree! Second time experience with this “service” and the only consistency, is the all around delays. Merchants will loose customers because they set the delivery expectations only to be missed because of the inefficiency of UPS Mail Innovations

Worst delivery service ever. Even worse than the old "FedEx Ground". Things that are sent via UPS MI enter the black hole of packages, with no tracking, endless delays and uncertain status. Sometimes they re-emerge weeks later, sometimes not.

Companies that use UPS MI obviously don't care at all about their customers. I say -- if a company uses UPS MI, find another vendor.

"INNOVATIONS" is a cheaper and MUCH SLOWER service part of UPS. Business shippers like that it is cheaper. Receivers hate "INNOVATIONS" because it can take weeks to get delivery! And the ability to track the
"Innovation" package is terrible too. You get what you pay for ... are businesses willing to lose loyal customers due to the lengthy shipping delays?

My package, which I ordered on July 5, has been in "Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending" status for two weeks. UPS blames USPS, local post office blames UPS, seller straight up won't respond. Since terribly slow service seems to be the norm, I'll give it until the one month mark. After that, I'm filing a PayPal claim if someone can't tell me exactly where my package is. I can't believe anyone uses this service. What a joke!

UPS Mail Innovations is hot garbage. I could tie my package to a pig, point it East and slap its ass and my package would arrive quicker.

UPS Left my package that I was supposed to receive that day at the local post office less than a mile from where I live. After sitting there for 4 days USPS decided to send it back to the shipper. WHAT A HORSE SHIT service.

this servise sucks.I told the last company that used this that I still have no information beyond post office so I will NEVER buy from this company again. they have lost my bussines forever.

Anonymous said...

Wow! With this service you can watch your package circle your area multiple times and still not make it to your house.

Everyone making a purchase should ask the sender if they are sending through UPS Innovations and if so refuse immediately and find another place to purchase from. My recent purchase shipped through UPS Innovations from 500 miles away on Feb 1st arrived in DC USPS on the 4th and it's the 12th and now I'm notified it will arrive late. This is the online description of why Innovations is so slow. UPS Mail Innovations is so slow because mail piece needs to be first carried by UPS and later redirected to USPS for delivery. Besides, only when shipping volume reaches to a certain amount will mail pieces be sent to USPS facility. Before that, item will need to just sit somewhere to meet the daily minimum.

UPS Mail Innovations is a Delay-Definite Service. They scandal pieces as outbound from a MI facility, inform shipper they've 'done their job', and then have either 3,6 or 9 days (depending on driver's seniority) to drive over to a USPS center and with great reluctance, turn it over.

Just saw the tracking, had package sent to wrong post office, it had arrived in the correct town in WY and was sent to a post office in FL! This is the worst service ever and should not exist, it is complete garbage.

Our company signed up to have fulfilment done by a thrid party company. When we realized they use mail innovations we had to ask them to stop. It has cost us so much business, lost packages, refunds it is a disaster service.

Anonymous said...

I do exactly that. If the seller uses MI, I give them a choice: ship via anything else or cancel the order.
